Information for Service Providers
Space to Thrive provides services primarily in the Lunenburg and Queens counties geographic area. However, to my knowledge, I’m the only Registered Social Worker in Private Practice in Nova Scotia that offers this type of service, so I travel to other areas of the province as required. My services can be ‘stand alone’ or work in conjunction with, and be a complement to, the services that other service providers offer. I work with individuals, couples, families and seniors, as well as businesses and workplaces.
As a Registered Social Worker I am:
- on the list of private practitioners distributed by Mental Health Services for Lunenburg and Queens Counties
- on the N.S. Department of Community Services’ (DCS) list as an approved service provider under their “Policy 75” (which pertains to the process DCS uses when contracting private practitioners to provide private assessments or counseling for matters under the Children and Family Services Act)
- approved as a service provider with various Employee Assistance Programs
- on the Medavie Blue Cross “Provider Registry Network (PRN)” database
- able to have services covered through any Health Benefit Plans where the services of a Registered Social Worker are compensated
When people access Space to Thrive services they are usually experiencing heightened levels of chaos and stress and they have reached a point where they want to make changes in their lives.
I noticed the following with my clients and their situations:
- they have decided to do something about their situation
- they are ready to transform their lives from what they currently have to what they really want for themselves and those they care about, and
- they are motivated, for one reason or another, to change their lives and give the time, energy and resources necessary to make those changes.
I work with the strengths clients already have, and provide the guidance, strategies and support that enables clients to live and work in-line with the preferences they have for their lives.
We all want lives with less stress and less chaos, and that are more enjoyable and easier—both in our homes and workplaces. When we become more organized and deal with the clutter in our lives we improve the quality of our lives dramatically. Space to Thrive is honored to help people literally transform their lives.
